From the Director

Picture Lock-off

Gene-X has this week reached picture lock-off. Lauren Mercovich, our London-trained composer, has begun work on the symphonic score, and the sound design is now under way. Computer graphic imaging is near completion and, in the final polish, picture grading will give the final gloss to this highly charged and fantastically exciting project.

Test Screenings

We are planning test screenings in late March to get feedback from a live audience in order to see if we can tighten the emotional screws any further. (Don’t worry, there will be medical personnel in the theatre to treat those who become overwrought or faint at the stress of viewing Gene-X.)

I find recently I have to reassure people that no animals or humans were harmed or upset during the making of this picture (apart from the crew).

The Cannes Market

When the final feedback has been incorporated by mid April, the movie will be ready for its push into the Marché du film de Cannes (Cannes Market) in May. Not to give too much away, the producers are quietly confident that international release will follow in the second half of the year.
